What to expect

Relationship counselling can be a valuable resource for couples at any stage in their relationship. Our team of counsellors are dedicated to helping you navigate through any challenges you may be facing. It is important to note that relationship counselling has its limitations. While our counsellors can provide you with guidance and tools to help you work through your problems, they do not give advice, tell you what to do, or try to save relationships. It is ultimately up to you to make changes in your life. Counselling is not a quick fix or a magical solution, but rather a collaborative effort between you and your counsellor to explore and understand your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. With the right mindset and willingness to engage in the therapeutic process, relationship counselling can be a transformative experience.

Usually we see couples together; however, there are times when we may ask to see you individually. Your counsellor will discuss this with you.

Please be aware that if you or your partner are currently awaiting the outcome of court proceedings relating to any domestic conflict, we will not be able to offer couple counselling, but we are able to offer individual counselling.

What is relationship counselling?

Relationship counselling is a confidential service for couples and individuals who are seeking support and guidance in their relationships. Whether you are currently facing challenges in your relationship or are looking to understand the impact of past relationships, our qualified counsellors are here to help. We provide a safe and non-judgmental space for those over the age of 18 to explore their concerns and gain insights into their adult relationships. Our qualified counsellors are equipped to work with both individuals and couples, offering assistance in navigating a wide range of difficulties. If you are feeling worried or simply want to enhance the quality of your relationships, we are here to support you on your journey towards a more fulfilling and enriching future.

Your counsellor will work with you to explore any relationship difficulties and help you work towards the outcome you wish to achieve. Common difficulties that we work with, include but are not limited to; issues with communication, step families, dealing with the aftermath of an affair, conflict, life changes and the ending of a relationship.

Our counsellors are trained to help explore sexual difficulties. If more specific help is needed, we also have sex therapists who have undertaken additional specialist training.
